2004 - TOWARFs 50th Anniversary

In August 2005 TOWARF celebrated its 50th anniversary. A wonderful celebration was held with many dignitaries to honour the 50 years of service to the boating community that TOWARF has sustained.

Fifty years of loyal and dedicated service holds many stories, some tragic, others humourous and some heart rendering. A book entitled, 50 Years of Excellence", was written to pay homage to this outstanding organization. Written in 10 year increments, accompanied with many nostalgic pictures, 50 Years of Excellence, takes the reader from the year l954 when TOWARF was founded by Fred Oliver to the year 2005.

Some said TOWARF would not last longer than six months, but after reading the fascinating history of this organization, it will become clear why this particular unit is unique and thriving.

50 Years of Excellence elaborates on the trials, tribulations and victories that have led TOWARF into another half century of outstanding work and the rewarding partnerships they have formed with other units along their journey. Its worth the read!
